1993 to 1994 - Namibia

When the 1992 season ended, both cars were retired from the Wesbank Modified Saloon series. However, BMW Motorsport reached an agreement with Cohen BMW in Windhoek that they would take custodianship of the Viana Car B16 to be raced in Namibia in 1993. Llewellyn Anthony, who had a very successful racing history, was the designated driver, and for the first racing event, Deon Joubert joined Llewellyn in B17. Deon’s car then returned to South Africa straight after the event.

The car arrived in Namibia late in the 1993 season, so Lewellyn only got to drive it maybe 3 or 4 times in the Namibia National Championship at the Tony Rust Racing Track outside Windhoek. He also raced the BMW 535i twice at Killarney in the Super Series. The car was returned to BMW South Africa in early 1994.
