Deon Joubert managed to qualify his BMW first in class B, but Viana could only manage 5th spot due so some issue with his brakes. After the first lap of heat 1, Viana was up to third spot in class B, behind Joubert in first and Dunkerley in second place, and was able to pass Dunkerley and taken second place on lap 2. A blown engine from one of the competitors forced the race to be stopped due to oil on a large section of the track. With the race underway again, Joubert and Viana led class B and would end the race in this position, lying 4th and 5th overall respectively. In heat 2, Viana led class B with Joubert in hot pursuit in second place, and they would finish in these positions after a tight race.
