Passion for Speed - 29 January 2022

The annual Passion for Speed was held at Zwartkops Raceway in Pretoria on 28 and 29 January 2022. This is the largest historic racing festival in South Africa and is usually complimented by a number of international participants.

This year saw a new demonstration event called 'Greats of the Past', which was is aimed at owners of genuine and valuable period race cars who want to put their cars on the track with minimal risk of damage to the cars. It's an opportunity for old race cars to be seen and heard again by the spectators in a safe environment, instead of being stuck away in collections. Participants were encouraged to pace the cars as quickly as they liked and their were no placings.
