6 April 1991 - Kyalami

The weight regulations for class B were changed from this race on, following the weight controversy in class B, and were as follows: BMW 535 – 1200kg, Nissan Skyline – 1000kg, Porsche 911/ Mazda RX7 - 950kg. The Skyline of Johan Coetzee now weighed in at just over 1000kg, proving to be competitive with the 1200kg BMWs.

This race was a non-championship event, but nevertheless there was a very good turnout of 28 cars on the grid. Most of the class B entrants were present again, and it was a welcome return to motor racing for Paddy Driver, piloting the class B IGI Mazda RX7. Notably absent was the 535i of Deon Joubert, but Viana took the chequered flag after a good dice with the Skyline of Johan Coetzee.
